Meet Cam Crawford

I'm Cam Crawford, a 23year old adopted son of New Mexico and of Santa Fe. As a full-time firefighter, I've seen the ails of our state with an up close & personal look. Whether it's the inability for people to see a doctor, lack of adequate housing, water scarcity, climate change, or the need for more vested behavioral health services, the wealth of experience that I've gained as a first responder has informed my progressive politics.

In addition to being a firefighter, I also serve as a substitute teacher for Santa Fe and Gallup-McKinley County public schools where I see the consequences of a teacher shortage and dysfunctional education system that isn't meeting the needs of our kids.

While the challenges we face may seem too big, I'm eternally confident that we as New Mexicans have what it takes to roll up our sleeves and get things done for the state that we love so much. New Mexico Democrats have raised wages, prioritized early childhood education, legalized marijuana, created a sick leave program, and passed a child tax credit that directly helps working families.

Together, we can address the housing shortage, ensure our kids get the education they deserve, and create a healthcare system that serves all of us. Whether it's at the firehouse or the schoolhouse, I'll always fight to put working people in all 33 counties at the forefront of the New Mexico Democratic Party. That's why I'm proud to be running for Vice Chair of DPNM!
